Archaeological excavation - Test Pits

How can we help with your excavation project? Archaeology is not just about finding treasure or remains, in fact this is a small part of the discipline! Often commercial archaeology requires excavators to ensure that a site is suitable for construction, or to find out if anything requires removal and preservation. Additionally, archaeologists are often called upon for soil sampling to determine how a site has been used.

Here at BSM-GROUP we are going out on a 2 day dig next week to provide trial pits, these are to ascertain the levels of contaminants on a factory site. It is exciting and interesting to be involved in this type of project. So, whilst many may believe that all archaeologists are out there in dusty chinos and sun hats, our lads are out in work wear and machines!

What is important is that instructions are followed to the letter, we take the task incredibly seriously, knowing that even micro-excavators could damage the potential for dig success. Our micro-diggers are mighty machines but the smallest you can get and therefore the best for the job!
